Viva Chavez! G-Dub Diablo! Chomsky Not Dead!
Hello from Cambridge, MA. I’m here to give a couple talks at Harvard and MIT. I’ll post the handout here next week for those interested. As it turns out, this is a funny time to be in the Boston area, where our favorite anarcholinguist Noam Chomsky is buried…in work.
Hugo Chavez, several times elected president of Venezuela, has given a fantastic speech to the UN. Hugo began by recommending Noam’s great book “Hegemony or Survival: America’s Quest for Global Dominance†(don’t forget to read “Failed States: The Abuse of Power and the Assault on Democracy†too). He called the Decider “the Devil†before pointing out that the Amerikan Empire threatens the whole world with extinction. Hugo got a long standing ovation from the UN. Cowardly G-Dub had already skipped out of town. Don’t be a sucker, read the speech before you swallow the Korporate Mass Media hype about Chavez the “demagogue.â€
These grave insults to our Dear Leader were deeply upsetting to sensitive and Patriotik Republikratik politicians. Best of all, a city councilor here in Boston wants to replace the now officially hated CITGO sign with a huge Amerikan Flag for the people to worship.
At a news conference in NYC, Hugo said that he regretted never meeting the sadly deceased Chomsky, but Noam doesn’t mind–especially since his book sales are now through the roof.
You couldn’t make up stuff as good as this!
