HANDOUTS
If you miss a class or lose a handout, please download it from the homepage and don't ask me for extras. The only exception is the xeroxed list of English morphemes, which is not available in electronic format. You can ask me for an extra copy or xerox it yourself from your classmates.
TEXTBOOK
The textbook is now scheduled to arrive at Moufflon TODAY, THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 16 in the afternoon. Please go and get it, so that you can read the first chapters for next week.
SYLLABUS I
I also just updated the syllabus to reflect the change in presentation speed: Class 3 now spans over classes 3 and 4, and all classes move one slot back as a consequence. Since I had planned an "interim summary" we now scrap that idea if we can afford it and fill that class with new material. Please refer to the main page for details.
SYLLABUS II
I just updated the syllabus again to reflect various changes. From now on all changes will be posted (relatively) immediately.
CLASSES
Friday after the holiday (October 29) will be cancelled. The class will be made up on Wednesday, November 10. It will take place from 9.30am to 11.00 in Room 008.
CONFERENCE
Let me remind you again of the supercool workshop / conference which will take place at TETYK Hotel in Protaras on November 26-28 (Friday 11am to Sunday 5pm). The GACL-homepage can be found at http://www.punksinscience.org/kleanthes/GACL/index.html. You're all welcome -- please let me know as soon as possible whether you will attend and whether you will stay overnight: 10 CYP per person per night per double-room, half-board (breakfast & lunch), with one dinner party being paid for and all refreshments provided.
EXAMS
The in-class final exam will be on December 21. This means that I have to submit the final grade on December 28. In order to give me some time to go through all your work, your paper will be due December 14. I will hand out some paper topics next week in class, since there is still plenty of time. In the meantime, stay open-minded: whatever caught your interest so far is a potential topic, so think about it and talk to me.
SOCRATES
TAKE-HOME
The take-home exam is ready for download get a head-start. (I will hand it out in class on Friday.) Here is some further material to download -- but bear in mind that those of you who pick straightforward exercises should be able to solve them on the basis of our class discussions and handouts.
HANDOUTS
I just updated typos and other things in various handouts (classes 2, 7, 8, 9, 10-11, 13-14, 15). If you notice anything, please let me know.
CORE SYNTAX
On this page you will find some additional material on Core Syntax by David Adger himself -- some typos, an FAQ, some definitions, and handouts for his classes.
